Video Game Sales Results for February

The NPD Group has released its report for the month of February. While software sales continued to be down 9% year over year in February, hardware sales were up 42%. PlayStation 4 continues to lead the way with 287,000 units sold, while the Xbox One sold 258,000 units in February, surpassing Xbox 360 sales by over 61% at the same point in time. Xbox 360 grew its install base with 114,000 units sold in February, more than any seventh generation console. Wii U hardware sales increased by nearly 25% over the same month last year, with 82,500 units sold.
