September 2014 Video Game Sales Results

The NPD Group has released its report for the month of September. While software sales were down 35% year-over-year in September, hardware sales were up 136%. Overall, total industry sales increased 2% to $1.1 billion. Once again PlayStation 4 was the best selling platform, nearly tripling the units sold in August, followed by Xbox One. Wii U hardware sales were up 50% over August.
