Sierra is back in the Larry business, this time hitting us with Leisure Suit Larry's Casino. Imagine taking that great Hoyle Casino and mixing it with that lovable dork Larry. Sounds fun huh? Too bad it really isn't. This just seems to be a pretty generic casino game when you get right down to it, with only the funny LSL characters added. I remember when LSL 7 came out, now that was a funny game. So, when I got this one, I expected it to be pretty funny too, after all, I like casino games also. I was disappointed to say the least. This game has none of the funny little things that LSL 7 had. Even though its casino and not adventure, they could have done a lot more. Sure, every now and then something funny comes by, like a guy chasing his blow-up doll, or a dog peeing on a tree in the casino, but its just not as good as it could have been.

The games are just pretty simple variations of your typical casino games. You get poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, and slots. There was also the 'Wheel of Fortune', but every time I went there, it was 'under construction', so I have no clue about that. There are various different tables for each game depending on how much you want to bet. And, you can set a few different options for the style of play for each by right-clicking and picking 'options'. I was pretty disappointed in the slots too, only 3 styles of slot machines to choose from. Those are so simple to make, they could have tripled the number without adding significantly to the install size. All in all, a ho-hum game, not too bad, but nothing special here. The only thing that might save this game is the on-line play of it. Any of the games can be played on-line also. But, for some reason, the on-line option did nothing. There are various bars and restaurants on the map you can hit besides the gaming, but these are on-line only places. Basically, they are chat rooms where you can play little games against the others there. Sounds like fun huh? Well like I said, I couldn't get it to do anything, so, bleh.

Graphics: 7/20

Okay as far as Larry games, not a whole lot of animation, simple cartoons mainly. You won't have to worry about burning up your 3dfx here, just plain old 2d cartoons.

Sound: 5/15

Not much sound here to say the least. Mostly just sound effects.

Gameplay: 12/25

Play is not too bad here, I mean, its a casino game for gods sake. As long as the games work like they are supposed too, I guess we shouldn't complain.

Fun Factor: 8/20

Was ok as far as casino goes, with more options it would have been better. Just too few games to keep you coming back.

Multiplayer: 0/5

Well, it was either missing, or its broke, cause there is none to speak of. Too bad too, because that is what this whole game is based on. It wasn't really meant to be played alone. Online is where it's at for this game.

Packaging: 5/5

Well, what can I say, the little Southpark guys installed it just fine.

Overall Impression: 5/10

Not bad, not good, just indifferent. Had the multi worked, this would have been a much better review I believe.

Overall Rating: 42/100
